Arizona Acoustic Showcase - July 27, 2007 - Inza Coffee - Free!
Written by Matt Moran on July 23, 2007 – 3:01 pm -Scott Walter has organized another Acoustic Showcase at Inza Coffee.
5 Musicians, 40 minutes each, stylistically diverse talent. If you like live music, this is a chance to hear some in a very cool/relaxed setting.
I’ll be playing third - which places me at approximately 8:20. However, if I take into account that the final song of any given set won’t end at exactly 40 minutes, change over time (next artist getting plugged in and ready to go), a late start, etc. it is likely I will start between 8:30-8:45PM - but be there by 8:20 if you want to hear me. I don’t want to see anyone I know walking in during my set!!! I don’t want to see anyone I know walking out during my set either!!!
Here is my personal flyer:

Here’s the Lineup:
7:00 Scott Walter
7:40 Sweet Tooth
8:20 Matt Moran (you are here)
9:00 Gina Loes
9:40 Jason & Lavar
Here’s the Scoop:
On the show: Scott Walter host the Inza Coffee open mic on Saturday evenings - 7 - 9:30 or 10 or so. Occasionally he pulls together a few artist for these acoustic showcases. It isn’t just cool to support local artist - with your applause - if not your money - but it is a great way to hear unique and independent artist who play for the music of it. Musician’s who might aspire to take their talent forward - others just content to play the occasional show for friends and family.
On my music: I don’t know how to categorize it… Some of it sounds country - but not twangie, some sounds like “acoustic pop” - some sounds like easy listening??? So let’s just cover my influences and favorite songwriters. They are (in an every shifting order): Shawn Mullins, James Taylor, John Mellencamp, Peter, Paul, & Mary, Gordon Lightfoot, Kris Kristofferson, Steve Earl, Fleetwood Mac (they all write well), Jackson Browne, Jim Croce, Jimmy Buffett, John Denver, Joni Mitchell, Kenny Loggins, and many others I am leaving out. Suffice to say that I play & sing well-enough to please you but won’t win American Idol on my best day. I try to mix in stories behind the songs - to give you a point of reference and the audience seems to find it interesting.

I wish I could be there. It sounds that great fun is awaiting the audience there.
