Introduction:
I am looking to formalize this and put together a band/musical project for both recording and future performances.

I am located in Chatsworth, California – proximity will be helpful and probably necessary.

I am not “hiring” professionals – I have other avenues if I am looking for session musicians – so only those interested in being part of an ongoing and professionally focused project should reply. Listen to some of my music, check out my website, etc. – and see if you have an interest in the music and direction I am going.

The Sound/Genre:
My music crosses a few genres – pop/rock/country/adult contemporary – think James Taylor/John Mellencamp (best to listen and decide)

Band Members:
What I would like to find and put together is currently loosely defined..

  • Another guitarist (lead)/ multi-instrument (mandolin/violin)
  • Percussion/drums
  • Backing vocals (female preferred but open to hearing anyone interested)
  • Bass
  • …..for any musicians, backing vocals are always a plus.

Samples:
Both from CD and demos from new project

From my first CD / Girls, Songs, and Other Delusions:

Background:
I self-recorded/produced my last CD – using MIDI for bass, drums, and some strings – playing acoustic and electric guitar and using a friend, a session player, for a few parts. For my current project, I am doing more remote collaboration.

In May, I self-booked a small tour, created merchandise, and hit the road- getting several paid and unpaid gigs – but covered gas, food, lodging.. plus and have been asked to come to each of the venues visited for paid and more thoroughly promoted gigs. I have also been approached by and recommended to a few promoters in the Southwest.

I am recording 20 songs right now – focused on a first selection of 10 with 10 more right as this project is completed…

Plan/Goals:
I give workshops on Social Media/Online Presence and business focused planning and tools for songwriters and performers. I decided after years of helping other businesses and individuals use technology to achieve  success in a business endeavor that I would apply those skills – both technology and business – to my music.

I plan on putting this project together – finishing some product (both music, shirts, and other merchandise)

Pay/Money:
Simple.. we talk about an equitable arrangement as the project progresses. Initially, I am happy to distribute any and all gig money to band members before me. Merch/CD sales would be discussed. More involvement – with band activities (promo, business, management) would also be discussed and negotiated.

How To Proceed:
